How shipping works
From the farm's address to your front door.
Every order begins at the farm that raised it. The farm keeps the food, packs your order itself, and ships it frozen — no fulfillment warehouse in between.
That means the chain stays short and known. The people packing your box are the same people responsible for the land, animals and food inside it.
§ 01 · The route
Packed at the farm. Sent directly to you.
Each farm on FarmersMarket.com packs its own orders at its own address. From there, the shipping service is chosen based on where you live, so your order spends as little unnecessary time in transit as possible.
There is no fulfillment warehouse between the farm and your home. The chain stays short and known — that is the whole point of an address.
§ 02 · Three steps
Choose. Packed at the farm. Freezer to freezer.
The farm packs it.
Your order stays at the farm until that farm's own team packs it. Each farm keeps its own address and its own packing day: Tyner Pond Farm packs in Greenfield, Indiana, and ships frozen on Tuesdays.
From their freezer to yours.
Boxes arrive frozen. Unpack promptly and move the meat to your freezer. If anything arrived wrong, a farmer answers the phone.
§ 03 · Shipping cost
Closer farm, smaller shipping line.
Frozen boxes are priced by distance and weight. Because every farm ships from its own address, the farm nearest your zip code usually ships for the least. We sort the market nearest-first for exactly that reason.

- Set by each farm. Tyner Pond Farm ships Tuesdays; orders placed after its weekly cutoff go the following Tuesday.
- Packaging
- Insulated box, packed frozen and vacuum-sealed.
- Transit
- Depends on distance from the farm. Carrier chosen per destination.
- On arrival
- Cold to the touch is fine. Move everything to the freezer promptly.

- Across America. Nearest farms to your zip are shown first.
No anonymous food.
Most food is anonymous. You don't know the farm, how it was raised, or what's really in it — and the industry prefers it that way. We don't. Every farm here is a named family farm at a published address, raising the best food on earth. Know your farmer. See the farm. Go visit it.
