What is FarmersMarket.com?

FarmersMarket.com brings an important part of a real farmers market online: knowing who produced your food.

The farm or producer is named, the practices are clear, and the people responsible for the food remain visible. Our beef and chicken come from Tyner Pond Farm in Greenfield, Indiana.

What does “single source” mean?

Single source means the food comes from one identified farm rather than being combined from a network of anonymous suppliers.

You know the farm, the people, the practices, and the place behind what you are buying.

Why does knowing the farm matter?

Because food from different farms is not necessarily the same.

Soil, climate, forage, genetics, season, animal age, and the decisions made by the farmer can all affect the food. We believe the source is part of understanding quality.

Is FarmersMarket.com a marketplace?

Not in the usual sense.

We do not want the farm to disappear behind a large catalog of interchangeable products. Each food should remain connected to the farm or producer responsible for it.

Where does the beef and chicken come from?

Our beef and chicken come from Tyner Pond Farm in Greenfield, Indiana.

The farm has been working to regenerate its pastures since 2010, with a focus on grassfed cattle, pasture-raised chicken, healthy soil, and careful grazing management.

02 · Grassfed Beef

Not a Commodity

Is the beef 100% grassfed and grass-finished?

Yes. The cattle are raised entirely on forage and are never fed grain.

They remain grassfed through the final stage before harvest.

Is all grassfed beef basically the same?

No.

“Grassfed” describes part of how an animal was fed. It does not tell you the breed, pasture, soil, rainfall, season, age of the animal, or how the grazing was managed.

Our cattle are raised on mature pastures in east-central Indiana. Those details are part of what gives beef from this farm its own character.

Why South Poll cattle?

We have selected South Poll genetics because they are well suited to a forage-based system and to the conditions of central Indiana.

Good grassfed beef starts with cattle that are suited to living and finishing well on grass.

03 · Pasture Raised Chicken

Raised Outdoors, Moved Daily

How are your chickens raised?

Our chickens are raised on pasture in mobile shelters and moved to fresh ground every day.

The shelters provide open air, shade, and protection while giving the birds regular access to grass, bugs, and forage.

Who is Tyner Pond Farm?

Tyner Pond Farm is a family-run farm in Greenfield, Indiana, built around regenerative pasture, grassfed beef, pasture-raised chicken, and a shorter path between the land and the customer.

Is the meat USDA inspected?

Yes. The site references A neighboring USDA-inspected processor as part of the known neighboring processor. That means processing is not a mystery step hidden outside the story of the product.

What does grassfed and grass-finished mean here?

For the beef, it means cattle are raised on pasture, hay, and seasonal forage rather than being grain-finished. The reason the farm talks so much about soil, rainfall, and pasture is simple: the quality of the grass shapes the quality of the beef.

What does pasture-raised chicken mean?

The chicken program is built around birds raised on pasture with mobile shelters. The shelters move so the birds have access to fresh ground, sunlight, and a farm system that is more visible than commodity confinement.

04 · PROCESSING & HANDLING

From porch to freezer.

Where are the animals processed?

The animals go to a nearby USDA-inspected processor that Tyner Pond Farm knows and works with directly.

We see processing as part of the same short, known chain—not an anonymous handoff into a national or international supply system.

Who packs my order?

We do.

Every FarmersMarket.com beef and chicken order is packed by the Tyner Pond Farm team in Greenfield, Indiana before it leaves the farm.

Is the meat shipped frozen?

Is the meat shipped frozen?

What is the best way to thaw it?

The best everyday method is an overnight thaw in the refrigerator. For faster cooking, keep the package sealed and thaw it in cold water, changing the water as needed.

ORDERING

Can I buy individual cuts, or do I have to buy a box?

You can shop individual cuts.

Choose the beef or chicken you want and build an order that fits the way your household actually eats.

Do I have to subscribe?

No.

You can place an order whenever you want. A subscription is not required to shop FarmersMarket.com.

Why are some products sometimes sold out?

Because the food comes from a real farm with a finite number of animals.

We would rather occasionally sell out than fill the gap with meat from an anonymous supplier just to keep a product continuously available.

Where do you ship?

FarmersMarket.com ships frozen beef and chicken directly from Tyner Pond Farm to customers across the continental United States.

No anonymous food.

Most food is anonymous. You don't know the farm, how it was raised, or what's really in it — and the industry prefers it that way. We don't. Every farm here is a named family farm at a published address, raising the best food on earth. Know your farmer. See the farm. Go visit it.
